As we enter a new chapter in the journey of software-defined vehicles (SDVs), our collective efforts are moving from exploration into real-world adoption. The Eclipse SDV community is steadily maturing, and what began as a bold vision is now taking shape in the form of tangible, series-ready software.
This momentum is not only visible within our projects but also across the global automotive industry. Just recently, Europe’s leading car manufacturers reaffirmed their commitment to open source by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration and accelerate innovation across the sector. This is a powerful signal: open technologies are no longer an option but a cornerstone for the future of mobility.
At the same time, our community footprint continues to grow worldwide. With community meetups in Korea and Japan in the second half of 2025 the Eclipse SDV initiative is strengthening its presence in the APAC region, engaging new contributors and partners who share the belief that open collaboration is the fastest path to scalable and sustainable SDV solutions.
All of this demonstrates the evolution of Eclipse SDV from a pioneering initiative into a trusted platform that supports industrial-grade, production-ready software. The progress we are making together reflects a simple truth: by uniting our expertise and resources, we are shaping a common foundation for the vehicles of tomorrow.
