As we eagerly await the Eclipse S-CORE 0.5 release and gear up for our December community meetups in South Korea and Japan, it’s no small feat keeping up with the flurry of activity within the Eclipse SDV ecosystem – let alone the ever-evolving world of SDV at large. That’s exactly why we put together this quarterly newsletter: to keep you (and, let’s be honest, ourselves!) in the loop on all the latest happenings, highlights, and milestones.

As we are all in the midst of mapping out 2026, we’re thrilled to share one of the biggest highlights on next year’s SDV calendar: the Open Community for Automotive (OCA), held alongside the Open Community Experience (OCX), in Brussels on 21-23 April. After the resounding success of OCA 2024, we’ve had ample time to craft the next chapter, and trust me, it’s shaping up to be bigger, bolder, and even more inspiring. OCA and OCX will bring together a vibrant mix of communities – Automotive, AI, Compliance, Research, Tooling, and more. One thing’s for sure: you won’t be staying in your SDV bubble for long! And the best news is: the call for proposals is open until 13 November, so there’s still time for you to actively shape the program.

To give you a sneak peek at the kinds of topics waiting for you at this festival of open technologies, we’ve lined up a week-long webinar series you can enjoy from the comfort of your home. And yes, automotive fans, you’re in for a treat: the automotive program kicks off this morning/afternoon with an exciting session on Eclipse OpenSOVD.
