Bharat Samanvaya for SDV

Established in October 2026, Bharat Samanvaya for SDV brings together automotive manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers, startups, academic institutions, and open source contributors to accelerate the adoption of software-defined vehicle technologies in India.

As part of the global Eclipse SDV ecosystem, this SIG provides a collaborative platform to address local market requirements, share expertise, and develop open source solutions that benefit both the Indian automotive industry and the wider international community.

Bharat Samanvaya for SDV focuses on four main areas:

  1. Technical alignment: Identifying India-specific requirements, promoting interoperability and software reuse, and encouraging contributions to Eclipse SDV projects such as Eclipse S-CORE, Eclipse OpenSOVD, and Eclipse OpenBSW.
  2. Regulatory and compliance alignment: Addressing functional safety, cybersecurity, software lifecycle management, and compliance with emerging Indian automotive regulations and standards.
  3. Ecosystem collaboration: Connecting industry, academia, startups, and research organisations through knowledge sharing, workshops, technical demonstrations, and joint initiatives.
  4. Open source contributions: Encouraging upstream-first development and ensuring that India-specific innovations, use cases, and requirements contribute to global open source automotive software platforms.

By bringing together stakeholders from across the Indian automotive value chain, this SIG aims to accelerate innovation, reduce duplicated development efforts, and foster the adoption of open source software across vehicle segments.

Its long-term ambition is to establish India as a leading contributor to Eclipse SDV, strengthen collaboration around functional safety and cybersecurity, and help shape the global future of software-defined mobility.
