We are happy to announce the release of Eclipse S-CORE 0.9 milestone. This update introduces architectural enhancements, new capabilities, and stability improvements.

What’s New in 0.9?

This milestone represents a significant step forward in improving our platform integration, build reproducibility, and system configuration capabilities. It is centered on implementing our unified integration strategy, introducing a dedicated configuration management service, and updating our toolchains. Here are some of the highlights from this release:

Core Platform Enhancements

  • Configuration Management: Newly integrated into the platform for the first time, providing a dedicated configuration daemon and proxy API for platform-wide configuration handling.
  • Baselibs: Our foundational libraries have been updated with stability fixes and now include an integrated workaround patch for QNX8 event polling.
  • Persistency: This release introduces stability improvements to our persistency module, ensuring reliable non-volatile key-value data storage.
  • Logging: Our logging framework has been updated alongside a newly added logging demo application in the reference integration to demonstrate diagnostic workflows.
  • Time: The time abstraction module has been updated to align timing APIs with the latest foundational libraries.
  • Kyron: Maintained at their stable baselines for deterministic time synchronization and service management.

Developer Experience, Integration, and Tooling

  • Reference Integration: Updates to Bazel 8.6.0, and includes the new logging demo.
  • Bazel Platforms: Reached its first major version, establishing a stable baseline for target hardware and operating system definitions.
  • Docs-as-Code: Our documentation-as-code toolchain has received a major version upgrade, improving documentation generation and traceability.
  • ITF (Integration Testing Framework): Enhanced integration test runners and execution fixtures across local, containerized, and emulated target environments.
  • Process Description: Updated and renamed to score_process_description in the Bazel registry for consistent governance across the project.
  • Tooling: Upgraded development utilities with an integration patch ensuring continuous support for rust_coverage_report.
  • Bazel CPP Toolchain: Maintained to ensure seamless compilation across supported target toolchains.
