There is an increasing interest in software and process quality methodologies that can be constructively applied to the Open Source development model. One relatively recent such method is the Eclipse Trustable Software Framework (TSF), which is developed with this goal in mind and confirmed by a certification authority to be an effectual tool for use in safety certification contexts. This presentation will give a very brief intro to the Trustable Software Framework and will then focus on a hands-on example of how it is applied to components of the Eclipse uProtocol project. It will close by pointing out how TSF is a great fit for an upstream-downstream open development model, and how it enables a community to jointly evolve core TSF asset libraries for wide reuse, thus lowering the bar for Open Source projects to more objectively measure and track software quality scores.
